A NOTE ABOUT THIS GUIDE
I'm so excited you're thinking about doing a boudoir session! They are a great gift to give but an even better gift to yourself. Blush sessions can be a bit intimidating, I know, I've been in front of the camera too. The first time I ever experienced boudoir was when I planned a session for my future husband. I understand how awkward it can feel.
I will be there with you every step of the way. From helping you pick out outfits to guiding you into poses that flatter your body type. I want to hear about the things you love about your body and the things you would rather not focus on. I want to be your biggest cheerleader and a friend that will listen. Let's do this together.
Having photographed more than 250 women over the past few years, I tend to get asked the same things over and over again. So I thought it would be beneficial if I put together a guide that walks you through everything from pricing to choosing outfits!

Heels lengthen legs but if you don't normally wear them then don't bother! I think barefoot is super sexy.
Neutral colors tend to photograph better than bright colors - especially since bright colors could reflect on your skin. Make sure to try everything on before your session to make sure your outfits fit well. Watch for ribbing and bunching when you sit! If you have areas of your body you would rather not focus on, keep that in mind when choosing your outfits.
I would bring a casual outfit, a bra + panty set, and then a sexier piece of lingerie like a bodysuit! Don't forget to cut out tags!

Don't forget the jewelry! I prefer simple pieces that compliment your outfits! Statement pieces can definitely dress up more basic outfits!
I love when bride's incorporate their veil, wedding shoes, garter, or wedding jewelry! It helps me to tell the full story of your session. We can even do detail shots of those pieces.
Some clients like to bring props, like their favorite cozy blanket, slippers, leg warmers, a mug, his tie or button up shirt, or even something a little more risque like handcuffs or a whip!

Engagement sessions are the perfect time for a hair and makeup trial! Professionally done hair & makeup last longer than typical hair & makeup. They also tend to hold up better for humidity and wind.
I think it’s so important that you look and feel your best for your engagement photos - and if you’re planning to do a hair & makeup trial anyways, the engagement session is a great time to test how your hair & makeup look on camera.

I believe every single woman deserves a boudoir session at least once in their life. It's not just about the photos. It's about the whole entire experience.
You deserve to see how beautiful you are in someone else's eyes. Age, size, height, race, hair color, none of that matters. You are beautiful inside and out. Embrace it.
Yes, it can be scary. Yes, it can be intimidating. Yes, it takes courage. Yes, I have done them and know exactly how you're feeling. Again, I believe in the power of boudoir and how much it can change the way you see yourself.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Boudoir is a great gift to give your significant other but it's an even better gift to yourself. We aren't getting any younger. Why not celebrate the amazing woman you are today by doing something for YOU?

You don't really need a specific reason to do a boudoir session. I have so many repeat clients because once they've experienced it once, they want to continue to embrace their self love.

Remember when we were in elementary school and we got a new dress? We would walk around and feel like we were the prettiest Disney princess and everyone would compliment how pretty we were? Somehow, as we've grown up, we have lost that.
Between photoshop, the media, bad relationships, mean girls, or our own insecurities we lost that confidence. This is your chance to embrace yourself and show the world that YOU are more than enough. That you are beautiful inside and out. That you are a BADASS and are sexy as hell!

Blush Boudoir Album
building the perfect
I can't stress this enough, PRINT YOUR PHOTOS. There is nothing like holding a photograph or album in your hands. Yes, I love digitals as well and it's super convenient to have them on your phone but it's not the same. Save the digitals for sharing with your girlfriends when you're out at dinner. Or sending a little midday tease to your significant other!
If you're investing in a boudoir session, invest in an album or prints as well! There are options for many different price points so if you're looking to print one let me know. I also have sales throughout the year if you want to print at a later date!
My personal favorite album is the 8x8 Signature Linen Album. I think it's soft, romantic, and complements boudoir photos perfectly. If it's a gift to your Significant other, the 5x5 Bare Album is sleek and easily stored!
Whether it's a gift for your significant other or a session for yourself, i believe in printing your photographs. An album is the perfect keepsake for a boudoir session because it will last for years and never goes out of style.
Once you receive your online gallery, you will have the option to choose which images go into your album. I will let you know how many to choose based on the number of pages your album has. You will pick the images by creating a FAVORITES list titled ALBUM in your gallery and then sharing that list with me when you've finished picking.
I will then design your album and send you a first draft. If you like everything the way it is, you will hit approve. If you want revisions, you will be able to make notes within the link. Once it's approved it will be shipped to you within 5-10 business days.
You do have the option to upgrade your album for a fee. You can also add pages for an additional fee of $30-$50 per spread depending on the type of album you purchased.
BLUSH PARTIES
What better way to celebrate that decade of friendship than a boudoir party? We host parties for all sorts of celebrations!
If you're thinking about a boudoir party let me know! I can help you plan all the little details. I do parties for birthdays, best friends, sisters, bachelorette parties, bridal showers, divorce parties, and just for girls days! There are a ton of fun! Get ready to pop the champagne, dance, and laugh with your best gal pals!
You can plan them at the studio or I can come to you! There may be an additional fee for travel, depending on location.
If you're crazy in love, let's plan a couple's session. They can take place in the studio or even at your home, an airbnb or a hotel.
Let's celebrate your relationship by capturing you both in your most natural state. In love, in each other's arms.
COUPLE SESSIONS
1. MOISTURIZE - Depending on the time of year our skin can get super ashy. Make sure to moisturize.
2. TOUCH UPS - If you're doing your own hair and makeup, make sure to bring your makeup for touch ups. You can also bring hair ties, clips, or hairspray for a little change or to tame flyaways.
3. TANNING - Please do not get a spray tan. Spray tans and self tanners photograph orange. They also transfer onto the white bedding, sheets, and furniture. I do not do additional editing on faux tans or tan lines.
4. LET GO OF EXPECTATIONS - Trust me. Don't overanalyze. Every session is different. Yes, I will help you pose.
5. EAT + DRINK - Make sure to eat something the day of the session. Even if it's something small. I would hate for you to feel light headed or unwell because you didn't eat. Drink lots of water the week leading up to your shoot, it helps with your complexion and skin.
Additional Tips
AFTER SHOOTING MORE THAN 250 boudoir session in the past few years, I'm happy to share a few additional tips
6. HANG YOUR CLOTHES - This will help your clothes not to wrinkle. If they need ironing, please do so before you arrive.
7. DRESS LIGHT - On the way to your session wear loose clothing. Tight clothing can leave indentations on your skin and that can cause additional editing fees.
8. CUT TAGS - I always tell my clients to cut any tags out of their pieces before the session. This saves for additional editing fees as well. There is nothing worse than a HUGE Victoria's Secret tag going down your butt crack in all of your photos.
9. SHOES - Bring new shoes that haven't been worn outdoors. The higher the heel the better. Kitten heels tend to make you look shorter.
10. SHAVE + WAX - Yes, shave those legs and armpits! If you do wax, do it a few days before to avoid redness and bumps!
Unless I have a holiday closure, you can expect to receive your boudoir photos between 2 and 4 weeks after your session.
If you are in a rush and need them sooner, I can put a rush on them for an additional fee of $100.
